Goth designer Olivier Theyskens was catapulted to fame when Madonna wore one of his black satin coats to the Academy Awards. He was later adopted by another famous gender bending pop icon, Marilyn Manson. Here, Theyskens shows his penchant for ambiguity by covering gender identification with a flat fronted reflective suitjacket. The androgynous styling and severe photographic lighting accentuate the sexual ambivalence of the design.
